Coconut Water for Acidity
A glass of coconut water can instantly cheer you up on a warm sunny day. But coconut water is much more than a way to escape the heat as it has many health benefits.
You may try to ease acidity with antacids then but sipping some coconut water can help resolve the discomfort that comes with acidity in a jiffy. Plus, it will also help provide instant relief from the burning you may suffer during a bout of acidity.
How does it help?
Your body’s pH acidic level turns alkaline when you drink coconut water. It also helps produce mucous in your stomach, which provides protection from the harmful effects of excessive acid production. Being rich in fibre, it aids digestion and prevents the reoccurrence of acidity. Further, coconut water helps cool the lining of the stomach, reducing the burning sensation.
To get relief from acidity, drink a glass of coconut water half an hour after your meal. Daily consumption of tender coconut water for 2-3 months, along with a nutritious diet, can give permanent relief from acidity and other stomach disorders, says Neha Chandna, our expert dietician.
